By SilverKris on 6 July 2022

The Upcycling Project, a creative collaboration between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and homegrown brands, aims to breathe new life into parts and materials from retired commercial aircraft and inflight service items since it was launched in August 2021. And for the first time since its inception, The Upcycling Project now includes an exclusive collection by Singapore Airlines, designed in-house by SIA.

From 6 July to 18 August 2022, expect to see a myriad of upcycled products, ranging from fashion, lifestyle, furniture to home products that will be displayed under one roof at Design Orchard Singapore during this pop-up event that is open to the public.

Roomy yet compact: Beyond The Vines Crunch Carrier series using life vests and seat belts

This bag uses retired SIA life vests for the body and seat belts as a closure mechanism.

Local fashion brand Beyond The Vines reinterprets its popular Crunch Carrier series in this collaboration with The Upcycling Project. Using life vests for the body and seat belts as a closure mechanism, the bags are available in two sizes that allow you to store many things. Swatches from the life vest that were not used in the bag were made into collectible key chains to reduce wastage.
